My research focuses on smart manufacturing and robotics for manufacturing and surgical operations.

Research Interests

  • Parallel robot/manipulators/mechanisms
  • Design and development of robots for eye surgery
  • High performance control of a surgical robot
  • Master - Slave system development for driving a surgical robot
  • Robotised intelligent manufacturing
  • Drilling metallic/composite materials
  • Scheduling and lean digital manufacturing

Public outreach & key achievements

  • Our method on time analysis has been successfully transferred to Bombardier Aerospace, and formed the core of their i-Me system, resulting in 48% productivity improvement.
  • Our works have won a number of best paper awards in international conferences including MeSRob2025, MEDER2024, iDECON2023, ICCSMT2023, IEEE_MeetroAeroSapce2022, IMIOT&ICSEE2018 and INDIN2012. For more details, refer to: /sites/smr/Prizes/
