Dr Liam O’Hare

School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work

Dr Liam O’Hare has a substantial track record in the design, implementation and evaluation of educational programmes and social interventions. He also leads the work of the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation (CESI) in two Innovation Zones sited within disadvantaged communities in Belfast.

This research has included designing a GCSE Science intervention based on spaced learning called SMART Spaces, an implementation study of the Positive Action social and emotional learning curriculum and Randomised controlled trial evaluations of over 20 educational and social interventions. He is also interested in applying this research focus in community settings such as the CESI Innovation Zones.

The objective of the research activity to make measurable improvements in the outcomes of children and young people as well as their families and communities.
